Dear Maria, children, family and friends. 
I have little memories when I was young. We grew up in different worlds. But it was special when Albert and brother Ernie would come to our house and surprise mom with a visit. It was such a joyous moment to see my big brothers. 
Recently, Albert, Maria and I would share short phone calls, laugh and joke around.  
And this time I gave him a surprise visit, last December we visited them at their home,  we got there late. Made fun of us because we were true mexican, (running on mexican time). 
But little did I know then that was going to be the last time I was going to see him here on this earth. My heart breaks and crys, I love you,  I'll see you soon hermano chulo.

I love you grandpa watch over my mom and grandma and everyone who loved you. I promise to take care of them both💗💙🙏🏼

You’ll forever be in my heart grandpa and will be missed so dearly but never ever forgotten. I remember when my mom would drop me off before work and I would just be hanging out with you and grandma, or when you would take me in your RV and would spend a day or two all together, oh those were the good ole times. One good time I still think about was when I was asking you to teach me how to tie a shoe lace to my doll, and I thought I knew it all so I said “no that’s not how you do it”, so you got mad and threw my doll to the side and said “oh well you do it then”😂. Those little memories make me laugh to this day (even though back then it wasn’t too funny I was mad to lol)  those times and many many more memories will always be something I think about when I think of your memory. I miss you so much grandpa we were too much alike because duh we’re both Tauruses lol 🙌🏽💗

It is with great sadness and sorrow to hear that Albert has lost his battlle, but what I do know is the he fought to the end. The warrior that he was.. He will truly be missed but not forgotten.  Albert has been in my life since I was around 12 years old and was like a father to me. I will always remember when he first came home from the Vietnam war. He came knocked at our door on Reagan St. when I opened the door I yelled out "it's Albert" he dropped his army bag and gave me the biggest hug. He was so happy to see my sister "Maria" and his family.  I send my prayers and condolences to my sister, Abby, Andrea, and all the grandkids and great-grandkids. To Ricky and Mario Gomez his brothers and their families as well. 

I want my sister to know that all of the Herrera family is mourning with her and are here for her and her family always.

Albert rest in peace and may the loving arms of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph be your comfort.
