Always in my memory, George. Nice moments we spent together for important dates.

I met George through my dear friend Esdras when I lived in Los Angeles during the 1990s. George was always very kind to me. He radiated wisdom and kindness. He always had a very wise piece of advice if one was ready to listen. I was able to see him every time I went back to Los Angeles. I always felt welcome to his beautiful home in Rancho Palos Verdes. The last time I saw him, in July-August 2025, he was already bed-ridden. Then I was able to speak with him for a last time in November 2025 when with my friend Alonso we called him from Spain. Esdras, Alonso, other friends, and I will miss George and his kind presence very much. Especially Esdras, who was very close to him.

George was an incredible person.   He had so much class in love for all kinds of people nationalities..  my aunt  Evanda and I met him through my brother Esdras.   We got to o know him well and visit him as many times as we could for the past 35 years. 
He was brilliant and 1 could talk to him about pretty much any subject and he knew about everything.   I learned a lot with him because of his brilliant mind.     He was very educated and I believe he had a masters degree but he would not let you know..   He was very humble and  had a lot of finesse.   I believe he could speak with anyone in a room and they would be very impressed with his stone advice and the way he spoke and he was the best listener I have ever met.   He could hear someone speak for over a half an hour and we would ask George  are you still there?   He would reply. Yes I’m still here. I’m listening with a big smile on his face.   He will be missed by many people that really knew him well.   I believe he is in heaven with Christ and resting now and we will see him again.  It was an honor to meet him and be part of his life. .

So sad to hear of Mr. Payton’s passing.  
He was my guidance counselor in High School at South Gate High and was my teacher for U.S. Government. 
It was during the time when the Manson trials were in LA.  
We had a Field Trip to the court houses in downtown Los Angeles and saw sone if the Manson family or followers outside on the street. 
We weren’t allowed to g into that trial but did sit in on another trial.  

RIP - Mr Patton.

George was always so kind to make time and celebrate my birthday on many occasions. It was so special to enjoy a meal and a delicious birthday cake with him. He always showed me how happy he was having friends around. I will always treasure his sincerity and kindness.

I will always miss my friend George. I remember all the times I had the opportunity to spend time with him at his house in Rancho Palos Verdes. I enjoyed listening to his stories about life, including trips he took and appreciation for art. I always admired his bright memory and ability to express his ideas. He knew what real friendship is about. It’s comforting to know he is now in the Lord’s presence.

We had a wonderful trip in Iguaçu falls in Brazil!

George you’re one of kind. I’ll never forgot about your kindness, honesty and wonderful personality.
