Don and I played hoops from 8th grade through HS. We were known to share a beer and smoke a cig after practices and/or games our last two years in high school. We had a enduring friendship through sports that could never be taken away. He always had a wry smile, a twinkle in his eye and warm welcome every time our paths crossed (almost like my brother) . I have great memories of our years growing up together and feel a sincere sadness with the loss of a friend and classmate.
