Bill was a great mentor in my years in the Montebello Unigief School District,  He was always full of good points and knowledge. He will be truly missed.

The overwhelming majority of us at MUSD ROP/Career Technical Education during the  Whitmore Leadership years loved working for Mr Whitmore and expressed our gratitude to him for everything he had done.  However, what was a greater source of joy for Mr Whitmore was the knowledge that our students were succeeding beyond expectations.  This was his primary career goal in life.   He was shy and reluctant to bring attention to himself.  He was our hero who never wanted recognition or fame.

Just as Mr Whitmore did in life, he preferred to quietly stay in the background with his arms crossed with his smile of amazement and a deep sense of pride in our student’s achievements.  His unselfish work and dedication has altered the trajectory of thousands of MUSD students lives.  He was truly a remarkable man.  

The positivity of his life’s work with live on for countless generations.  It was truly an honor to be a part of his team.

Mr. Whitmore has left a tremendous positive impact over decades of generations of MUSD students & their families. 

He fought for empowering students as he created opportunities & HOPE for individuals to tap into their abilities and giftings while  learning new skill sets that would literally transform their futures.

Many of these students  lived in tough neighborhoods without support or role models. Most  of them  felt hopeless & discouraged while lacking self esteem.  
It was through ROP that these students were provided opportunities to discover their FULL POTENTIAL to create a better life for themselves and break disadvantaged, at times unhealthy generational patterns.

Mr. Whitmore was a humble man that lived a life of integrity. He believed in his teachers, fought for them and provided them with every  resource, support & encouragement so they could empower their students.

Mr. Whitmore has left an imprint on my life that I am forever grateful for.

I know I speak for many teachers and staff who had the privilege of working for Mr Whitmore.  He was an exceptional leader who treated his instructors and staff with respect and compassion.  He was daring and innovative.  He gave us the resources and encouragement to keep our programs relevant and up to industry standards.

It was an honor to work for him.  He influenced the careers of so many of us at MUSD.  He was a  humble and modest man who never sought the limelight or recognition.  His primary focus was always our students.  I know he received great pleasure from hearing stories about the accomplishments of our Career Vocational Education graduates.  Their continued success is Mr Whitmore’s legacy.
