I'm very sad to learn of Ulyss Chow's passing today, but happy to read the comments of many people who loved him. He was a bright light. I sat next to Ulyss in high school chemistry and he made it bearable with his wit and humor. He would often sidetrack our teacher, Mr. Smith, by blurting out, "Hey, Mr. Smith! How about those Lakers!" That he became a beloved doctor is testament that, despite the evasion tactics, he was a very bright and good student. Rest in peace, Ulyss. 

I was devastated to hear the news of Dr. Chow's passing. I have been a patient of his for more than 20 years. He was one of the kindest, caring people that have ever walked the Earth. Prior to meeting Dr. Chow, I was very leery of doctors and had not seen one in many years. He was referred to me by a patient of his and friend of mine. She was right. It was instantaneous. I could tell that he was different. Over the years, we built not only a patient/doctor relationship, we were friends....We would talk about vacations, football, everything in addition to his taking care of my medical needs. I would always look forward to going to see the doctor because it was Doc! 
I last saw him in February of this year. I don't know what happened to Dr. Chow, but it was an absolutely a shocking phone call I received on June 2nd. I'll always remember where I was when I heard the news...
My deepest condolences to his wife and 2 children. He would talk about you often. He was very proud of his children. May he rest in peace and know that he was very loved, not only by his family but by his legion of patients that loved him because of the wonderful doctor and man that he was.....

Dr. Chow was my doctor for 15 or more years.  I I Dr. Chow  was my doctor for over 15 years.  I was so shocked and saddened to hear that he passed.

Over the years Dr. Chow saw me through various health issues and he always listened to my worries and he provided positive thoughts with kindness and medical professionalism.

He will be missed.

Dr Chow was my doctor and a neighbor for many years. 
I'm saddened to hear of his passing. 
He was a kind soul and saw me through many illnesses and always took the time to hear of my minor aging questions.
When my son was old enough 
caught up on how our families were doing. 
I know he loved his family deeply and was very proud of his children and the life path they are on. 


My deepest sympathy on the passing of Dr. Chow. 
Dr. Chow was my primary doctor for more than 25 years. I grew to respect and admire him.  Only today I learned of his passing. 
It deeply saddened me. I have always felt like he was my friend. I’m going to miss him. 
He was a great doctor. Compassionate, caring and loving doctor.

My wife and I are deeply sadden to hear of the passing of Dr. Chow. He was my doctor for over 25 years. My wife became his patient about 5 years ago. I went from a young man to one married with kids of my own in college and High School. I always felt he cared deeply about my health. What I remember most however was our talks about traveling. I think on my last visit we spoke for 20 minutes just about our traveling adventures. I will be going on a safari next week and I was looking forward to sharing the trip experience with him. It will have to wait for now, but one day. I will miss him and that great smile.  My deepest condolences to his family, he will be missed but not forgotten.

I am just finding out about my Dr. for over 20 years has passed.  I don't know if I'll ever find another Dr. like him.  He was the best, he never forgot me, always made me feel like a friend than a patient.  I am heartbroken for his family.  I pray for comfort during this time.  You will truly be missed, thank you for always making me comfortable. And never forgetting who I was.. I will never forget you!!

My heart is broken we have been dr. Chow's patience over 35 + years. Started seeing him when he worked  at Bay Harbor hospital. I worked with Dr. Schrader and Norcross. He was not just our Doctor he was truly a friend.  The best out there. We are sorry for your loss Halena and your children

It seems like just yesterday we got to see & hug him after having zoom consultations due to COVID.  
My husband met him at Bay Harbor and was his doctor for 27 years & mine for 20 years.

Ulyss always greeted me with a smile and, "What's good?"  when I saw him at his office.  His sister, Lana, is one of dearest friends.  I used to think as my doctor he spent more time with me because I was Lana's friend.  Then I started to pay attention... through those not so sound-proof walls, I could hear him taking time and care with all his patients.  He took care of me for 30 years, my daughter for 16 years, and my mother for the last years of her life.  Through it all I heard about his family, his wife, Helena,  the many accomplishments of his children, and all of those family travels.   Visiting my Dr. Chow was always a pleasure, even when it wasn't great news, he'd make me feel cared for.  I survived cancer with Ulyss in my corner making sure my doctors were taking care of me.  I can still hear his voice, see his smile, and that brings me comfort.

To Helena, Nathan and family, and Nicole, I send my love and prayers for comfort and peace during this difficult time.  I know Ulyss is watching over you.  May his memory be eternal.

Our family is so sorry to hear of Dr. Chow's passing.   He was more than a doctor he was a friend.   He always took time to listen to anything great or small.   He was my husband Chris physican for 30+ years and mine for 5.  We send our condolences to his wife and children.
