Hiko grew up in San Gabriel, California where he graduated from San Gabriel High School in 1956. He was a proud Boy Scout, Eagle Scout, and loved to fish with family and friends.
In 1961, Hiko was drafted into the US Army where he served honorably in Panama as a headquarters personnelist until 1963. He was awarded the Expert Rifle Badge and Good Conduct Medal. Upon his release from the Army, Hiko went back to college and started a career in the automotive repair industry.
He loved his work and did it for over 25 years.
Hiko grew close with one of his customers, Rosemary and they eventually became married on January 6,1981. Hiko and Rosemary were happily married for over 43 years. Hiko loved to learn and see new things. He would impart that love to his family and often take them on trips and expose them to many new sights and history. No matter what the situation, Hiko always seemed to find a reason to laugh or smile.
He is survived by his wife, grandson, and many nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Chapel in Whittier, CA from 10 - 11am on June 5, 2024. Funeral services will be directly after from 11- noon.
