Thomas Alton Crispell, age 86, of Laguna Woods, California passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024. He was born in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania to Glen Alton and Margaret Mary Crispell. Thomas felt a call to serve his country and left home at a young age to join the United States Army and eventually transitioned to a role with the Central Intelligence Agency. It was during his time serving overseas in Korea that Thomas met the love of his life, Ki Sun Crispell.
Upon transitioning to civilian life, Thomas was a loyal and committed employee of McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing, where he worked for over 30 years in the finance department. Following his retirement, Thomas continued to give to his community by serving weekly at his church and generously contributing nearly 10,000 hours of his time as a volunteer at Saddleback Medical Center, where he was beloved and widely recognized for his service.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Ki Sun, and is survived by his son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Julie; and grandchildren, Caleb and Chloe. He is also survived by his nieces, Haewon Shin and Ann Karaim; his nephews, Scott, Don, Jason, and John Kim, and Gregory Shin, and their families. Additionally, he leaves behind his brothers, Glenn, Harry, Douglas, and Gordon Crispell; sisters, Carolyn Real, Marilyn Gillette, and Debbie Simmons, and their families. All of them will never forget the love, selflessness, and generosity he demonstrated throughout his life.
A funeral service for Thomas will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - SkyRose Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601.
