So many memories and adventures that make us laugh.  Cousin Esteban/Steve always seemed to make  me laugh. I , Connie, loved when my grandma Sabina would say in Spanish  Vamos a visitar a mi hermanita Josefina.  In my mind that meant a new adventure with Tia Josie Salcido y Familia.  So much fun with the primos y primas and that would include primo Esteban . One adventure that I recall was when we visited the old cemetary near Tia Josie and we were all talking about scary stories at the cemetary.   Of course that was before cell phones and we all lost track of time.  Well needless to say we were locked in the cemetary with no where to go but to hang out with the spirts. It was pretty fun but scary at same time. Esteban that day was so funny with his scary stories. . I still can't remember how someone got us out but boy we were scared that night. Good times.  Good times of course.

Me acuerdo cuando estábamos chicos, como defendías a José de los vecinos y siempre andaban juntos.
Te gustaba basilar y reír.  Aquella vez que tú y Pepe me iban a sacar afuera de la casita de la Forest en un sofa y no aguantábamos la risa y yo grité y grité.  Siempre llegabas a la casa con mi ama y no la dejabas sola. Tanto que recordar y decirte.  Me consuela saber que te pude decir que te quería en vida. 
Te querré siempre y te extrañare mucho.

I will always be grateful for the memories you leave in my sons hearts. Watching them as they played outside, the chalk drawings on the driveway.  The papas you made only for yourself but would make an exception and make special for Gabriel.   To this day he is a papero. The talk of aliens and the “Que suave” or “Que gacho” and the one you would say to me when I told you to stop bugging my mom “Y se me safo”. 

Today Los Escobar will toast to you with your favorite…. a Coke.

Thank you for being the grandfather figure I had as a child.  I will hold close to my heart the memories of the crop circles and the car tracks you drew for me in the driveway.  You held me in your arms to see the Fire Engines go by.  I will one day be riding on one to help someone in need.
