It’s been two years since you’ve been gone and I am still working on getting my own life back. You were always here to support me and believe in me, even when no one else was. You were always so busy, but you didn’t let that stop you from being there when I needed someone most. You weren’t perfect, but you still tried to be better. I’m still trying too. I miss you so much Sharif. I know that you will and are still here. I don’t have any doubts about that. You are never going to be forgotten, by me, my son, or others. I love you and I will meet up with you one day. Rest in peace.

There isn’t a Day that goes by that I don’t think of you. Miss you every day, remembering all the fun filled, wacky, crazy adventures we shared. Still in disbelief that your not here. I just try to imagine that your traveling on the road, going from one job site to another, doing what you love. Your in a better place now, resting and watching over your loved ones. The day I met Sharif, I made an instant and loyal friend. I had just moved to Los Angeles and didn't know anyone. I was struggling financially after undergoing a colectomy for colon cancer. Sharif was there for me when I had no one - yet he didn't even know me. That was not only the defining moment of our friendship, I learned that selflessness and altruism were his defining characteristics. Sharif's absence from this world leaves a void in many lives but he'll forever be in our hearts. 

My uncle Sharif had a heart of gold. Inevitably as humans, we suffer through loads of obstacles. And unfortunately my uncle endured far too many during his time. But he was always there for everyone else regardless. He put his loved ones and closest friends at the top of his list, regardless. And he never failed to do things for people that made them feel important. When nobody else could pick me up or come to save me from any situation, I knew he would drive whatever distance to be there for me. To be someone I could rely on. And indeed he was. I miss him oh so terribly, and I always will. It breaks my heart knowing he wasn’t always the happiest, but atleast he is at peace now.

I grew up constantly getting called, “Toad,” but I never asked you why. Now it’s too late. I don’t want to forget the fact that you and I have had some great conversations about Lonzo being just like you and dad combined, and how frustrating things were for both of us at various times, but I knew that I could always count on you to look out for me. I guess I’m going to have to get along with you being in a place where I can’t reach you. I miss you so much, everyday. It’s my sincerest wish that you are at peace and with dad. You’ll always be my big brother. I love you Sharif. 

I'll Never forget  When I met Sharif for the 1st time. Such a fun a generous gentleman.  We forged a friendship that lasted 12 years.  He took me under his wing and started training me in the I.T field.  And to this day I have a very respected position  in this trade thanks to him.  I WILL MISS YOU MY FRIEND.  EVERYTIME I DO A TECH JOB I WILL NOW YOU'RE LOOKING DOWN A SMILING.  RIP MY DEAR FRIEND. 

You will always be in my heart, Sharif.  I think of you and miss you every day.
