Pilar was born in Mexico City, Mexico on December 31, 1943. She was the first of twin girls born on New Year's Eve.
Pilar was married to Carlos Holling and raised her family in Santa Fe Springs, CA. She was a devoted spouse and parent, always putting her family first and cherishing every moment spent with them. She was the proud mother to four children.
Pilar sold the family home and moved to Chula Vista, CA. She had a beautiful home that she enjoyed very much with her plants, various fruit & lemon trees, pool, and close proximity to the San Diego Trolley that took her wherever she wanted to go. She could visit her sister inTijuana, Mex or go shopping at nearby establishments. She later decided this house was too much for her so she sold everything and moved again.
Pilar moved to Hollywood, FL in 2019. She enjoyed daily walks along the beach and the famous Hollywood Broadwalk, where she would stop by a coffee shop for a cafecito and pan dulce. On rainy days, she stayed indoors playing dominos or cards with her “Golden Girl’s” neighbors. She enjoyed knitting and sewing, always ready to sit and chat with her friends.
During any holiday, she would plan the decorations and the food menu. At Christmas she enjoyed setting up her nativity scene and cooking fabulous traditional Mexican dishes.
Pilar enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She looked forward to the yearly family vacation with her children, extended family and friends. Even though she was advanced in years, she would be doing things a younger person would think twice about. She went swimming with the dolphins, sea turtles, sailing on a catamaran, and Sundays after church on boating trips with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and has friends in Canada, Argentina, France, Italy, Spain, and throughout the USA that will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her children Cathy, Liz and Sergio. Her son-in-laws Bruce Davis, Steve Clavelot, and daughter-in-law Gaby Holling. Her grand daughters by Steve, Danielle, Amber Clavelot, and Jennifer Heining, and their children Luke, Ezra, and Walter
She is also survived by her twin sister, Maria Galindo and her brother Armando Lopez, and her many nieces and nephews. Her many god-children and all those who asked her to be their mother after losing their own.
May we find comfort in knowing that she will never truly be gone as long as we keep her memory alive in our hearts and minds. May she rest in peace with her beloved son, husband and family members that went before her. She will be laid to rest at Rose Hills in Whittier ,CA. with a private Celebration of Life luncheon immediately after.
