The Rev. Paul O. Rosnau of West Covina, CA entered eternal glory on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the age of 93. He was born March 11, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Otto and Adeline Rosnau. Paul graduated from Concordia College in Milwaukee, WI and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. In 1956 he was ordained into the ministry of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. He served as pastor of Lutheran congregations in San Antonio, TX, Hinsdale (now Burr Ridge), IL, and La Puente, CA.
In retirement Paul pursued his three favorite hobbies: 1.) Researching scientific evidence in support of Divine creation; 2.) Reading about World War II and serving as a docent at the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, CA; and 3.) growing a wide variety of fruits on his 30+ fruit trees.
Paul is survived by his four children: Lynn (Steve) Scheiderer of Ft. Worth, TX; Rev. Alan (Linda) Rosnau of Scottsdale, AZ; Dean Rosnau of Snowmass, CO; and Jill (Ed) Popeney of Corona, CA; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Theola “Sue” (nee Kulpa) Rosnau, his brother Herman Rosnau, and his parents Otto and Adeline Rosnau.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Hillside Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park (3888 Workman Mill Rd., Whittier, CA 90601), followed by a service of committal. The Rev. Mason Okubo of Immanuel First Lutheran Church, West Covina will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations given in Paul’s memory be sent to the following charitable organizations:
