Ned K Novakovich Jr.

Ned was brilliant, talented and athletic but schizophrenia ravaged his mind and Parkinson’s took his body. He was a gentle soul whose life was hijacked by mental illness. His memory was legendary. He could do complex math problems in his head, tell you who your congressional representative was no matter what state you lived in, and quote the score of USC football games from the beginning of time. Classical music was his refuge and KUSC was his constant companion. Ned graduated with honors from Edgewood High School in West Covina and attended Claremont Men’s College. He is survived by his sister Alex Novakovich, brother-in-law Larry Birstock, nephew Bobby Birstock and niece Rebecca Birstock.
