Mildred Marylen (Palmer) Montgomery age 86 passed away on Monday August 26th, 2024 at Boulder Creek Post Acute in Poway California where she had been a patient for several years. The family is very grateful for the great care she received by the staff at this facility. We ask that donations be made to your local Alzheimers Association.
Mildred was born on June 12th, 1938 in a small cabin on the Kalama River in Kalama Washington. Mildred was raised in Kalama Washington where she attended schools graduating from Kalama High School in 1956. Mildred had a great love for the Columbia River and would tell stories of her father who worked on the Columbia River aboard a tug boat and how he would toot the horn as he passed by the town of Kalama to say hello to his family. She married her husband John in a small Church in Kalama, and soon after they moved to Southern Oregon to start a new life and family. She worked most of her adult life until retirement in the Admitting Department at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford Oregon. She particularly loved the Oregon Coast, lighthouses especially.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents George and Inez Palmer, twin brother Russell, Sisters Norma and Marge, Brothers Fred, Ken, and Ed. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Montgomery, daughter Marilyn Montgomery, grandson Richard Montgomery Jr, and great grandson Parker Floyd Montgomery. Mildred is survived by son Richard Montgomery Sr and daughter-in-law Lupe Montgomery of San Diego California, grandson Bryce and his wife Chelsea Montgomery, great grandson Augustine Parker Montgomery all of La Mesa California, and sister Maudell Eisenbarth of North Dakota.
At her request, no services will be held, but we ask when you see a lighthouse, kindly remember Mildred.
