You live in my heart daily Mom! Missing you and our fun times together….until we meet again, 

I miss you my Beautful Mom. I love you Mom, until we meet again. I will forever have the memory of holding your hands, kissing your face, and smelling your hair and calling you Mi Reina. I kissed you so much that I can feel you! I thank you Mom for everything you did for me. I am forever grateful for your sacrifices, the laughter we shared and the sad times. For the good times at Plaza Mexico and sitting at the beach together! Thank you for telling me I love you Too! For inspiring me for being courageous in every moment! I’m  at peace Mom, because you are with Jesus in his precious hands. This is not goodbye…. It’s I’ll see you soon!  Loving you your 911

Being her first born grandchild.  There are so many Precious memories of my grandmother taking care of me in the small house in Bellflower. My mother would drop me off on her way to work .. unknowingly, the party began.. Grandma used to let me stay up late, watch cartoons and imitate my favorite super hero(s),,. I'll never forget the time I dressed up as Robin,  & some how i got gum across my eyes ( I'm telling you, it was a party) ...  she picked at my eyes brows for hours, I swore I'd never try that again ... 
As a child our trips to golf n' stuff were a place we bonded most.

Mom, mother, Madre there are many ways that describe what the word entails based on one's personal experience with Martha. 
In my early years I recall our family time filled with after school dinners consisting of bologne sandwiches ,
Koolaid and disco dancing, a once in a lifetime traditional Quinceniera  and endless teasing about my tomboy activities.,
As the years went on, and  our journey through life played out, we grew into our own distinct selves not always exactly how mom expected ! but with that fighting spirit that mom exemplifies. She taught me her cooking skills and traditional recipes, how to draw, sew and do laundry. Skills that not only help one develop character but a necessary asset. My favorite time as a child was in the kitchen with mom especially during the holidays.
I recall the tamale projects we took on to raise money for our new school clothes and as mom would say, Para El "down payment por la casa en bellflower.. that's a heck of alot of tamales we made !" We would even travel by bus to deliver burritos de chili Verde to dad who worked as a butcher at farm boys. I think she liked to surprise him and at the same time spy on him 😁 dad was so handsome.

Thanks Mom for giving me your fighting spirit, your creative talents and your courage to persevere whenever life got tough. I'll miss you and the time we shared listening to your family stories detailing the  rich and dynamic heritage of the Vargas familia. 
May you rest in peace, tequila in one hand and your favorite Helen grace chocolate in the other.
