It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luis Arturo Barragan Villafaña, who passed away on September 16, 2024, at 10:26pm at the age of 63.
Luis was born on June 30, 1961, in Juchitlán, Jalisco, Mexico. He was the beloved son of Maria Elidia Villafaña Sevilla and José Arturo Barragán Diaz. He shared a unique bond with his identical twin brother, Marco Antonio Barragan Villafaña.
Luis married the love of his life in the 1980’s to Guillermina Barragan Alejandre Saveedra, with whom he built a loving family and had four children and an adopted son-in-law: Crystal Medina, Tatiana Alejandra Barragan, Louis Brandon Barragan, Jesus Alejandro Barragan and son-in-law Hector Medina.
Luis and Guillermina shared a union of thirty-nine years. He is survived by his five grandchildren.
He was also a devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly as an auto body technician for most of his life. His dedication to his craft was admired by all who knew him, and his expertise in the field left a lasting impact. He always lended a hand when he could especially when it came to cars.
Beyond his work, Luis was known for his joyful spirit and love for family gatherings and love for mariachi music, where songs like “Por Tu Maldito Amor” and “Volver Volver” were renditions of his and couldn’t miss singing with the mariachi band.
Whether it was a holiday, birthday, or simply an excuse to celebrate, Luis was always the life of the party. His laughter, warmth, and love for his family created unforgettable memories that will be cherished forever.
Luis is survived by his wife, his four children, five grandchildren, and his identical twin brother along with the rest of his siblings and many extended family members and dear friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A funeral service to honor Luis’s life will be held. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his life and the joy he brought to so many.
