With profound love and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved Leonor Benavides Lopez, affectionately known as "Lucre," on March 4, 2025, in Los Angeles, California. She was 91 years old. Born on March 15, 1933, in Chihuahua, Mexico, Leonor was the heart and soul of our family—a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and love knew no bounds.
We were truly blessed and honored to have her as our mama. Her unwavering love, gentle spirit, and boundless generosity made our lives richer in ways words cannot fully express. She cherished her family above all else, finding her greatest joy in the laughter and warmth of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
As the last surviving sibling of the Benavides family, Leonor carried their legacy with grace, strength, and dignity. Though she now joins her beloved parents, siblings, and cherished friends who have gone before her, her love remains with us—guiding us, comforting us, and reminding us of the incredible woman she was.
Her kindness and warmth touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, and while our hearts ache in her absence, we find peace in knowing she lived a full and beautiful life, surrounded by love.
A visitation for Leonor will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hills Mortuary, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. Following the visitation will be a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Hillside Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
