Kaz, a loving mother and wife, will now join her late husband Henry “Hank” Sakae Yoshitake, who passed away in 2001 at age 76. They had a loving and caring relationship during their 51 years of marriage.
A member of the Beverly Orthodox Presbyterian Church since the early 1960s, Kaz was a devoted follower of Jesus as Lord and Savior, serving as a steadfast guide for their three children to follow. She loved old Christian hymns and often sang them while working on her jigsaw puzzles.
Kaz, a retired secretary with the Montebello Unified School District, loved to spend her free time playing board games with family members and friends—and often won! She was also an avid bowler and played in several bowling leagues, including the Beverly Bowling Center, where her team was a league champion in 1997-98.
At the time of her death, Kaz was living at La Posada Assisted Living & Memory Care Community in Whitter, Calif., where three of her close friends from Beverly Orthodox Presbyterian Church and a former coworker, Zula Dobbs, initially resided. Kaz’s friendship with these ladies spanned over 60 years, and she enjoyed visits with Dolores Coleman and Isabelle Sanchez.
Kaz, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, leaves behind sons Calvin Yoshitake (Janet) and Dennis Yoshitake (Deborah); daughter Carol Abe (Greg); grandchildren Casey (Amarilis), Aaron (Ana), Joni, Chuck, and Jeffrey; step-grandchildren Aaron, Cassandra, Tristan, and Angilece (Cory); great-grandsons Kershaw, Maverick, Logan, and Miles; step-great-grandchildren Koa, Coral, Dylan, Kai, Gracyn, and Connor; and brother Roy Noritake.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10 AM on July 26 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA. Enter Gate 1 and follow the blue line to Memorial Chapel. Casual or Hawaiian attire is desired.
In lieu of flowers and koden, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or your favorite charity.
