Juanito Lucas Leong was born on November 24, 1932 in Manila, Philippines, and entered into eternal life at the age of 91. He was the second oldest child of 11 children of Christina Lucas and Ponciano Leong.
Juanito enjoyed fishing, fixing cars, and a good game of Texas-Hold'em poker.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Baza, after 51 years of marriage. a. He is survived by his children, Daniel (Rose), Christine (Michael), Patricia (Patrick) and Anthony (Terry). His nine grandchildren; Danny, Christian, Alexandra, Samantha, Madeline, Gregory, John Paul, Michael Eric, and Christopher. His great-grandchildren are Penelope and Benicio.
Juanito was a dedicated and impassioned Merchant Marine Seaman of 35 years for the Military Sealift Command of the Federal Government. As a 3rd Officer Engineer for the USNS Furman for most of his years, and several other undisclosed missions, he retired from the USNS Mercy Hospital Ship during the Gulf War.
It is with great sadness that our father, Juanito Lucas Leong, passed away on June 14, 2024 after a long battle with dementia related complications; while being attended by Pablo, Thess and Euan of AllWise Board and Care Residential Home in Eastvale, Ca.”
