we had different party hats for Grandma to celebrate her life with us.   When I would visit her , I always brought her a special treat like McDonalds cheeseburger happy meal, rospada with coconut and walnut, fresh fruit, smoothies and hot fries were her favorite chips.

She looked great for being 97. still up, chatty and no ailments at this point.  Look at that smile.

We made her feel special of course because this was a huge milestone for her.  She saw a lot of changes in her lifetime.

Grandmother and Dennis are together in Heaven.  We will all be reunited one day!!

Grandfather carved their initials into this heart when they got together and married before his military deployment to fight as paratrooper in WW II in 1944.   He also had her initials tattooed on his arm I.V.S. Grandma also gave him an embossed cigarette case with her initials inscribed.  It was the yearning and drive to come home during the war gave grandfather hope in his survival  throughout combat. He was a double purple heart recipient.  He had to stay alive for us to be here today.  This is inside her casket buried with her as a sign of undying live.
