Grammy....... I miss you so much, but I know you have reunited with so many loved ones. ❤️ I will forever cherish our late night chats. I appreciate you always listening, and all of the wisdom and advice you have shared with me. I have admired your strength, determination, and love. Thank you for loving me and my girls. Thank you for telling me when I’m doing a good job, and thank you for letting me know when I need to get it together. Until we meet again.❤️❤️🙏🏼 

Atticus once wrote “She was powerful not because she wasn’t scared but because she went on SO strongly despite the fear”	. 

My Grammy, Irene Navarro was the strongest women I knew.  She was fiercely independent, creatively resourceful, loving without limits, and my best Friend. 

When she hurt she hurt silently, and when she loved she loved deeply.  She was so very generous, sometimes to a fault. She was my voice of reason and a strong role model. She provided me and family with stability, and an appreciation for life.

When I lost my mom in 201 6 my whole perception of life changed.  It was as if there was this impending doom lurking over my head and death was ever so present.  But I had my Grammy and I wasn’t going to make the same mistakes as I did with my mom with her.  So I channeled my inner Becky and dragged my Grammy everywhere with us! We went Camping, we went on a RV trip to Big Sur, we went to the La County Fair, to many beaches, Boat trips to Mexico, concerts and more.  We made so many lasting memories that I will forever cherish. I can still hear her in my head saying Whooo hooo! She could be a lot of fun. 

Not only was Irene loved by her family but she also had so many wonderful friends in her life.  She had friendships that spanned over 60 years. And even some of her friends have turned into family.  

My Grammy despite dealing with a lot of death and heartache, lived an amazing life and acquired so many beautiful people to surround her.  She traveled the world and encouraged me to do the same. She was my comfort and my strongest supporter.  I am so lucky to have spent so many years with her and soak in all her wisdom.

The beauty of life is that while we cannot undo what is done, we can see it, understand it, learn from it and Change.  So that every new moment is not in regret, guilt, fear or anger but in Wisdom, understanding and LOVE.

You played such a big part in over 40 years of lasting friendship with Department of Water & Power ladies. You were gentle, always kind , funny, generous with your love and caring ways. You’re going to be sorely missed when we gather again 💕

I hope you’re having the biggest, most grand celebration in heaven. I loved being in your presence with your kind heart, and sweet spirit. You will always will be remembered & missed !

You were the first person to reach out to me when I arrived in California after my divorce and with my 3 year old daughter, Lisa.  You opened your heart and family to us.   I will never forget when we attended a birthday party at your home and Lisa experienced breaking the piñata for candy for the first time.
Your friendship, love, support, fun and crazy vacations will be with me and in my heart always.   We shared a friendship for almost 60 years and never had a disagreement ever.   Amazing and so were you.   I will miss you my dearest and most precious friend.
