Iluminada Cid

On Wednesday May 1, 2024, Iluminada Cid of La Habra, California lost her battle to liver cancer at the age of 85. Iluminada was born in Cuba where she lived with her parents Jose and Aurora Fraga and 8 siblings, 3 of which are in paradise with her now. In 1956, she married the love of her life Jose Cid. They had their first child, Marie, in 1957 and in 1963 welcomed their second child, Jose. Their third and final child, Odalys, was born in 1965. In 1970, she and her husband immigrated to United States and ended in California with their 3 children. Life was difficult for them coming to a new country, learning the language, and supporting the family. Iluminada was fortunate to be a homemaker and be able to raise her children. She was a loving mother, a great cook, and she had a green thumb with the ability to make everything grow, bringing even the most sickly plant back to life.

Illuminada was always very generous, even after over 50 years living in California, she continued helping her family in Cuba. She would constantly help anyone in need, not only monetarily, but with an unwavering loving support. Her dedication to keeping her family together was always top priority. Iluminada is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Jose Cid. She was a devoted mother of 3, grandmother of 8, great grandmother of 15, great great grandmother of 11, a sister, aunt and a cousin. Though we say goodbye to Iluminada, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the joy and love she brought into our lives. Her sprit will continue to uplift and guide us. We Love You Always.

El miércoles 1 de mayo de 2024, Iluminada Cid de La Habra, California, perdió su batalla contra el cáncer de hígado a la edad de 85 años. Iluminada nació en Cuba, donde vivió con sus padres José y Aurora Fraga y 8 hermanos, 3 de los cuales están en el paraíso con ella ahora. En 1956, se casó con el amor de su vida, José Cid. Tuvieron su primera hija, Marie, en 1957 y en 1963 dieron la bienvenida a su segundo hijo, José. Su tercer y último hija, Odalys, nació en 1965. En 1970, ella y su marido emigraron a los Estados Unidos y terminaron en California con sus 3 hijos. La vida fue difícil para ellos al venir a un nuevo país, aprender el idioma y apoyar a la familia. Iluminada tuvo la suerte de ser ama de casa y poder criar a sus hijos. Era una madre cariñosa, una gran cocinera, y tenía habilidad con las plantas de hacer que todo creciera, devolviendo la vida incluso a la planta más enfermiza.

Illuminada siempre fue muy generosa, incluso después de más de 50 años viviendo en California, continuó ayudando a su familia en Cuba. Ella ayudaba constantemente a cualquier persona necesitada, no solo monetariamente, sino con un apoyo amoroso inquebrantable. Su dedicación a mantener a su familia unida siempre fue la máxima prioridad. Iluminada le sobrevive su amoroso esposo de 69 años, José Cid. Era una devota madre de 3, abuela de 8, bisabuela de 15, tatarabuela de 11, una hermana, una tía y una prima. Aunque nos despedimos de Iluminada, lo hacemos con el corazón lleno de gratitud por la alegría y el amor que trajo a nuestras vidas. Su espíritu continuará elevándonos y guiándonos. A funeral service for Iluminada will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hua Yuan, 3890 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California 90601. Following the funeral service will be a reception from 4:45 PM to 7:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - GardenView Reception, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.

Iluminada will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601; Garden of Affection; Gate: 1, Section: 14, Lot: 1775, Grave: 2.
