Born on July 22, 1947, in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, she was a beacon of strength, love, and unyielding faith throughout her life.
Chela was a devoted wife to Eliazar Alvarez Proo and a loving mother to Maribel, Mayra Angelica, Sandra Patricia, Daniel, Valeria Edna, Erika, and David Proo. She was also a cherished grandmother to 20 grandchildren. Moreover, she was a loving and faithful friend to many.
Her family remembers her as a protective, devoted, and loving woman with a zest for life, who, above all, loved the Lord with all her heart. Even during her illness, Chela's indomitable spirit and deep faith shone brightly; she was a fearless warrior who fought valiantly, always trusting in God, until the end when our Lord called her Home.
Her strong faith, her leadership skills and assertiveness helped her achieve her goals. By God’s grace, her most cherished accomplishment came just days before her passing when she received the sacrament of baptism, fulfilling a lifelong wish.
Memorial services for Chela will be held on July 22, at 3:00 p.m., at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California. Rose Hills Memorial Park is assisting the family during this time.
