Grace was born in Beijing in 1929. She met her husband, a Colonel in the Air Force, and fled to Taiwan at the young age of 19. In Taiwan, Grace worked for the US Military, demonstrating her fluency in English and her sharp mind, qualities that remained with her throughout her life.
Grace received sponsorship from her work to immigrate to the United States. One by one, she paved the way for her immediate and extended family to immigrate over. We all wouldn’t have the life we have now if not for her determination and perseverance.
As a grandmother, Grace was a nurturing and loving figure to Kelly, Bonnie, Jonathan and Jessica. Her vigilance and guidance shaped their lives and left an indelible mark on their hearts. Grace was also a great painter and singer, passions that brought joy to those around her.
Grace had a sweet tooth and a love for life's simple pleasures. Her diet often included chocolate ice cream, Marie Callender pies, and chips. Her snack drawer was always stocked with childhood crackers, candies, and fruit snacks, a delightful testament to her vibrant spirit and love for sharing treats with her family.
Grace was the heart and soul of her family, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her youngest son Barry, daughter in-law-Sabrina, her grandchildren Kelly, Bonnie, Jonathan and Jessica, and her great-grandchildren Valerie and Zachary, among many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Grace Yeh's legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be remembered and cherished forever.
