Taiwan. She immigrated to the United States with her mother, Shu-Chun (Sherry), and younger
brother Andy when she was 15 years old. Once in the US, they reunited with her father, Chih-
Yoh (Peter), and established roots in Arcadia, California.
Her intellect, sense of determination, and hardworking nature enabled her to become fluent in
English and excel academically. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
She worked as a premium insurance auditor for almost two decades before founding her own
college counseling and financial aid planning business. She was passionate about helping
people reach their highest potential and enabled many students to attend their dream colleges.
Outside of her career, she was a devoted daughter to her parents and a supportive life partner
to her husband of 32 years, Jack. She also was a dedicated and loving mother to her two
children, Kaitlyn and Dylan. The life-lessons and experiences she shared with them continue to
guide them to this day.
She was beloved by her friends and family members. Her thoughtfulness and careful attention
to detail could be seen in everything she did, from offering the best advice in any situation to
planning the most memorable parties and celebrations.
She was the epitome of resilience: she navigated and successfully started a new life in a foreign
country, battled cancer three times, built a business from the ground-up, and advocated for
better opportunities for her special-needs son. Despite these challenges, she always found a
way to enrich the lives of others — she volunteered her time at the Assistance League (among
other organizations) and, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinated the collection
of ~30,000 masks for frontline workers and vulnerable community members. She was a woman
of faith and truly embodied the Christian values of love and compassion.
She will always be remembered for her generous heart, courageous nature, and for her deep
care for others.
