Everyone’s life is a sum total of all the people they have met, all the things they have done, the places they have gone, Frank H. Pak was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Frank will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Frank’s life journey began on May 5, 1935. He first greeted the world in Hong Kong. His parents’ names were Chow Ngan Li and Pak Kun Yuen. He grew up in Hong Kong and was mainly brought up by his grandmother. He was raised with 3 younger siblings, 2 brothers and 1 sister. He was sent to a private catholic boarding school by his grandmother and would go home on the weekends to spend time with her. In all, Frank grew up surrounded by family and friends who cared about him very much.
Upon graduation from high school, he went to work for First Indian Bank in central Hong Kong. There he met Terry Kwan. They dated for several years, married and then had one daughter, Eleana. They immigrated to the US in March 1974 and settled in the Los Angeles area to be near Terry’s family. Both Frank and Terry worked in the banking industry and made lots of friends who they kept in touch with for many years. They saved enough money to buy a house in the San Gabriel valley to fulfill their American dream of home ownership.
Fortunately, Frank enjoyed what he did for a living, showing a strong work ethic, worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his job in international finance. After many years of dedicated work, he retired at age 62 to spend more time with his wife and daughter. Frank enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities with his wife, including travelling around the world, raising koi fish, and participating in bonsai and orchid clubs. What he liked best though, was playing majong. Unfortunately, in 2006, Frank lost his beloved wife, Terry. After this loss, he and his daughter continued to indulge in his love of traveling around the world, good food, and good shopping.
On September 6, 2024, surrounded by his beloved daughter, Eleana, family and friends, he journeyed on to meet his wife on the other side.
