Hey…It’s me again. I really miss you and I can’t function like I used to. My smiles aren’t real anymore. I’m just a wreck and I can’t focus anymore. I miss you Abuela. I miss your warm bear hugs and when we used to dance before I went to class so I wouldn’t be mad that I had to go to school. Your attitude was so funny and I memorized “Blow The Whistle” for you and I even saw Too Short at a concert. At Nia’s Graduation Party I rapped the whole song just for you. I wish I brung my whistle though. I miss rubbing our noses together, I would always bother about how cold yours was, but I really miss it. It hurts to think about what happened. It really didn’t have to be you.  I’ve improved as a writer and I write tons of short stories now. For my open thoughts book I wrote a story on how I found out. I still read a lot and I still hate being told what to do. I notice I’ve become more stubborn, mom says I get it after you and Grandma Unity. I miss when we used to catch people stealing candy from the container you had in the living room. I missed waking up real early and coming to your house when you used to take me to school. Sometimes I imagine your still here and I pretend that I’m talking to you and that you give me a big hug but I know it’s just my imagination. I’ve been having new interests and I had a first boyfriend already. Yes, my mom and dad knows but it wouldn’t be the same without you. Im finally culminating from Open this year and I got into a all girls school called GALA. I miss your soothing touch and when you held me in your arms and told me everything was okay. I miss your cards for events that you would give. I remember you’d give me more than one card on Christmas and my birthday. Although I saw you everyday you still gave me your cards and mailed them to my moms house. Remember that shaved ice place? I go there again. I remember a video I made of you and you were complaining and said you wanted a shrimp cocktail! I miss you so much Abuela.

Florence, I miss you so much but I know you are with our Lord. My wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple weeks and after 17 years of marriage. You called us up every year and sang to us with your beautiful angelic voice “ happy anniversary to you , happy anniversary to you “ 
You were my maid of honor on my Valentine’s wedding day, you are my best best friend and will be until we meet in heaven. Thank you for coming to me in my dreams and still giving me good advice. Love you and miss you so much !

I’m Carl Scheel II and I am Flo’s godson. In Hispanic culture, godmother translates to Nina, therefore Flo IS my Nina. I stand here before you today, just as My Nino and Nina stood at the alter, 53 years ago, to help with my lifelong spiritual formation. I grew up in the Andrew’s household with my god-brother Little Thomas and god-sister Cicely. In that household I was taught Love, acceptance and what it means to be Family. I have numerous memories of sleeping over the weekend, going to Marina Regina church for mass, camping, go kart track racing, boxing matches at the house, Rowley Park and many birthday celebrations.

My Nina was an Outgoing, fun loving, charismatic and beautiful woman; and I am here to attest and confirm that She lived life to the fullest, by the word of God and succeeded in making me the Christian man that I am today. My Nina will be forever in my heart until the Lord decides to call me home.
