Estella Marquez Licon

Estella Marquez Licon, born on January 14, 1925, in Long Beach, California, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, in Whittier, California, at the age of 99. Estella was the cherished matriarch of her family, survived by her daughters, Lora Villarreal and Martha Baltazar; granddaughter, Michelle Price; grandson, Christopher Villarreal; great-grandson, Nolan Price; great-granddaughter, Megan Martinez; and great-great-granddaughter, Selena Martinez. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carlos Licon, and her parents, Manuel and Lorenza Marquez. Estella's early education took place at Belvedere Jr. High and Garfield High School. Her career spanned several respected positions at Sears Roebuck, J.C. Penney, and Schurr High School, where she was known for her dedication and warm spirit, Estella also was a woman of faith and found solace in prayer at home. She had a love for Novellas on TV and enjoyed listening to Mexican music, which brought her much joy throughout her life. Services to honor Estella's life will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary, located at 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA, on November 14th at 11 am. The service will be a graveside ceremony where family, friends, and loved ones can pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude, located at 205 W. Monroe St. Chicago, IL 60606 (312) 544-8230 ext. 1005. A graveside service for Estella will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.

Following the Graveside service, there will be a Celebration of Life for Estella Licon at El Camino Mexican Grill -5321 Workman Mill Dr. – Whittier, CA. 90601. A Luncheon buffet will be available . Please come and share your memories of Estella.
