Earl Lee Prows was born on June 7, 1950 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He died on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at his home in Diamond Bar, California. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Chiara, his daughter Angie and beloved family.
Born to Marguerite Catlett and Earl Lee Prows Sr., Earl had one sister, Connie. Earl grew up with his family and extended family in Idaho, where they all worked together at the lake with cabin rentals and operating a small restaurant. At 7 yrs. old, his family moved to Southern California, which became their permanent home. Growing up throughout his school years, Earl enjoyed reading, playing sports such as football and wrestling. He also loved playing the trumpet, which led him to be part of his high school marching band and being a participant with the Lakewood City Youth Band. His passion for playing this instrument also created his lifelong appreciation with listening to instrumental music, particularly with jazz.
After finishing high school, Earl enlisted in the Navy and served 4 years of active duty on the USS Puffer Nuclear Submarine stationed in the Pacific Ocean. He provided service for his country as a sonar technician. After serving his country, he began working in the Aerospace industry. Followed by working for different computer companies such as Pertec and Computer Vision. He finished his career working as an ultrasound service technician for Philips medical.
Earl met Chiara in January of 1973 through the introduction from his father. They were later married on June 15, 1974 and had two children, Angie and Robert. Earl was a very loving and supporting husband to Chiara for 50 years. They did everything together and enjoyed spending time with each other. Earl was a loving and caring father. He always helped Angie and Robert, providing support to all of their activities while they were growing up. Earl and Angie loved playing tennis together. Earl supported Angie at all her tournaments and practice lessons. He helped her with everything she needed. Earl and Robert played tennis, baseball, and took many fishing trips together. He was proud to see Robert become a pilot, and enjoyed many trips as a passenger flying together with him.
Earl enjoyed spending time with his whole family. He enjoyed traveling some of the places he visited with his family were Italy, Florida, Hawaii, Alaska, France, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Austria, Germany, and Hungary. Earl loved deep sea fishing and being on boats. Every opportunity he could he went fishing with his family members, especially with his brothers-in-law. Over the years, he kept in touch with his high school friends and liked to spend time catching up with them. Earl was always active as enjoyed playing racket ball and tennis and like to attend live concerts as he loved music. He was also an avid reader, he loved science fiction and thrillers and liked to learn about places. He was a big USC and Rams fan and loved to watch football.
Earl was a family man. He loved his wife Chiara very much. Always caring, supportive, and present at all family gatherings. He was always happy to see his relatives, and when they came to visit, he would be the best host organizing places to visit and taking them out to eat. Earl will be forever in our hearts. His personality and sense of humor will be missed by all. He will be loved and dearly missed by his family and friends. We all know we will see each other again in Heaven.
A funeral service for Earl will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
Earl will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601; Mission SJC Mausoleum CompCryp; Gate: 1, Section: 1, Tier: E, Crypt: 119T2.
