Claudia Soneriu passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Claudia was born in Campulung, Romania in 1962 where she went to primary and secondary school, before earning her Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering in Bucharest later on. She spent many years teaching high school chemistry before coming to the United States of America where she continued working as an engineer in the plastics/rubber field.
Claudia embodied many qualities: she was a giver, she was resourceful, she was intelligent, and she radiated positivity. Throughout her life, Claudia never wavered from who she was. She made many sacrifices for those she loved, she was constantly learning, growing, and trying new things, there was never a question she could not find an answer to, and she did all of this with a smile and while providing lasting life lessons.
Claudia loved being outdoors taking nature walks, visiting local arboretums, and going to the beach. In her free time, she enjoyed volunteering at the local nature center, and food banks, on top of spending time with her family.
Claudia is survived by her children, her son, Theodor Alexandru (Alex), her daughter, Christine Danielle, and her son-in-law, Macgyver.
A visitation for Claudia will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose Hills Mortuary, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 28, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
Claudia will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601; Autumn Terrace; Gate: 1, Section: 14, Lot: 3147, Grave: 4.
