Thank you to all of Allen’s friends, colleagues, church members, Rose Hill staffs (Donnie) , Pastor Ng, and family for attending Allen’s service today.  Allen was such a gentle giant, and seeing how he was loved by everyone around him, warms our hearts. We pray that Allen is at peace and is free of suffering and pain. Allen and I had known each other since middle school, and we've kept in touch throughout high school as well and even being in the delayed entry program together when we were going into the Marine Corps.  Though we were different job series and completely states for duty stations it was always nice running into a familiar face when I would visit our hometown within the San Gabriel Valley. I may no longer make an appearance through social media, but I remember all the cool times we've had, and simply talking about life, and being able to chat about what we were going to do when we were going to get out of active duty.  

We were boys when we met and I got the privilege to see him develop into a man, and then into a Marine. 

Allen also helped me out with filing some of my claims for VA compensation as he was always good with paperwork, so I do thank him for that for this very day because I would've kept shut the entire time when my body was in too much pain or dealing with post traumatic stress. This is a message from the bottom of my heart, and I am glad you were in my life buddy. You did make an impact on me for sure and I'll always remember you. I just found out the news about this and it's truly sad. Rest in peace Allen.

Allen and I met in high school— I’ve always known him as a kind and optimistic person who lived life to the fullest. We shared countless meals, laughter, and tears together. Even while serving in the Marines, he made time to visit me— getting food, late night talks, taught me to drive, helped me grieve my father, and guided me into the person I am today.

We had many incredible adventures together, including trips to Seattle, San Francisco, and Taiwan, but most of our time together was spent grocery shopping, getting boba, and chatting in the car. We’d stay on the phone for hours and just talked until we laughed, cried, and bicker, all to do it over again the next week. All of our memories and conversations will always hold a special place in my heart.

I often reminisce about when we lived together while we were both college students, in the midst of COVID, cheering each other on and excitedly “nerding out” on each other about what we were doing at school. It was much simpler times and I wonder how quickly they’ve gone by. 

I am still in complete, utter disbelief.. I cannot fathom how I will begin to grieve you now. I want to express my deepest gratitude for being your friend for so long. It’s been an incredible privilege to witness your growth into a young man and development into your cool space career. You will always be remembered as a wonderful friend and you will always have a space in my heart. Rest well. My most heartfelt condolences to your family and your many loved ones during this difficult time.

You were, and always will be, so deeply loved.

I still feel you in the quiet moments, every day. In laughter that sneaks up on me, in songs you used to love (a lot of kpop & sabrina carpenter :’) ), in memories that come rushing back.. You’re gone, but you’ve never truly left me. You never will.

He made the funniest faces, had the cutest smile… Although he was quiet and shy at times, the way he showed up for people spoke louder than anything he could have said. Right from the start, I knew Allen was special. He deserved the world. A life surrounded by love, support, & filled with the kind of happiness he freely gave to others.

He never failed to make me laugh, whether it was over the smallest or biggest things. When I first started asking him about his job, he said that he never even knew there were companies that build space craft. He replied, “I kinda thought they just appeared out of thin air or like from target”.

Words aren’t enough to describe Allen’s gentle soul. He was full of love, understanding, & unwavering patience. Knowing Allen was a gift.. but truly experiencing who he was? His humor, his heart, he was a blessing beyond words.

City of stars…I hope they welcomed you warmly and gently as they shined for you 💛

Kuya Allen, Thank you for helping me decorate the balloon arc for my 9th Birthday. I will miss making tiktok videos with you... Keep dancing up there! May you rest in peace.

Even if I knew you for a short amount of time, it was always nice seeing you during our family gatherings. Thank you for always trying to make amends with Prince when he would bark, and thanks for taking me and ate Jilian to get boba. Your memory will always be cherished.

Allen, thank you for being a part of our lives for such a short time. I truly appreciate you celebrating Rein and Rai’s birthday with us. Your thoughtful gesture of buying the delicious desserts and helping us set up the arc balloon created a beautiful backdrop for the celebration. We will miss you dearly, Allen. Rest in peace. 🙏🏼

I’m thankful I got to know Allen even for a short period of time. Thank you for attending family gatherings and spending time with us, including my birthday and thank you for the roses.

Allen got to the fleet right after I got promoted to Sergeant. Fresh Marines, motivated NCOs, motivated Staff NCOs, and a fresh OIC meant that shop morale was immense! As professionals and leaders, we wanted to bestow as much wisdom to our Marines as possible in the short time we’d have them. We weren’t in boot camp anymore. Allen and Luis were men, now. Even more, they were Marines, despite being PFCs. And they were more than capable. We PT’d hard. We’d grapple hard. We’d train daily in jiu jitsu, pistol and rifle operations, customs and courtesies, and coach them on the deep lore of our Sacred Marine Corps. 
A few years later, after we had both served our country, we’d meet up for drinks and food. Sometimes we’d double date with our ladies. Catch up, reminisce, laugh about how Gunny Francisco absolutely hated me.
 I’m going to miss my brother. I have nothing but good memories for Allen. He’s been nothing but real with me since the first day he walked into my shop in his Service Alphas… ribbons all messed up and terrified of SSgt Best. Which was reasonable. Like I said, shop morale and motivation were very very high.

Buddy… you truly had the biggest light. One thing I will always remember about serving in the Marine Corps with you is how you were always smiling.  I’m so sad to hear this.. You are a brother and always will be. Rest easy, Semper Fi.
