Jui Chi "Lucy" Wang, was a devout buddhist who lived by those words. She always had a big smile on her face when greeting visitors at Hsi Lai Temple where she volunteered for over two decades. People were drawn to her. She had a certain aura about her that made people feel comfortable, safe, and happy. In her 97 years of life, she's managed to pick up quite a fan base. She was recognized everywhere she went. No matter how busy she was, she greeted everyone with kindness and that great big smile. In her last years, as her health started to fail, she lived in a nursing home where she managed to become one of the most beloved residents. Grandma Lucy was everyone's grandmother. She loved each and every one of them unconditionally. The staff absolutely adored her. They hugged her, sang songs, tickled her chin to make her laugh. Her infectious laughter and gigantic smile melted their hearts, erased any troubles they may have had, and brought them so much joy.
In Buddhism, death is a rebirth. Through karma and eventual enlightenment, one hopes to escape samsara and achieve nirvana, an end to suffering. In the land of Amitabha Buddha, there is no suffering, only happiness.
JuiChi Wang is predeceased by her husband, Shing Shiao Wang, and survived by her 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild
