Brian Anthony Barraza

8 septiembre , 19712 agosto , 2019

Brian Anthony Barraza, age 47, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2019, at his home in Chino California, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 8, 1971, in the city of Bellflower, to Arnold and Mona Barraza. He attended Glen A. Wilson High School in the city of Hacienda Heights, Class of 1989. Brian worked a variety of jobs growing up, but his most notable accomplishment was the nearly two decades that he spent working for CARE Ambulance. During his time with CARE Ambulance, Brian served as an Emergency Medical Technician, Field Training Officer, and Operations Manager. Brian was acknowledged by CARE Ambulance for his ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.

Brian truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; camping with his family, finding new places to eat and travel, attending his children’s sporting events, chatting with friends, and hanging out watching USC Trojan’s Football. Brian had an uncanny ability to make people laugh, and was the life of the party. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

Brian is survived by his wife Trina, children Jake and Brooke, step-daughter Lilliana, parents Arnold and Mona, sister Lisa, grandmother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s, a niece, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 13th from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary in Whittier. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, August 14th at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove, followed by a procession to Graveside Committal at 12:00 p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary in Whittier.

There are multiple memories of my cousin Brian, I’m his eldest cousin darlene from is dad side. I have lots of fun memories of Brian from when he was a toddler through adulthood. when I babysat Brian as a toddler with his sister Lisa, they were so cute and close little siblings. Brian was a happy child, always doing funny things or acting funny. Our family times were hanging out at the park for Easter growing up, and celebrating our birthdays together. Brian loved being with his family and cousins, another fun trip was going camping. Many celebrations and memories were also created at my uncle boys & aunt’s Mona home. getting together for Thanksgiving and parties, Brian loved family parties. Once the music got started he loved to dance, and some singing. It was so fun to watch him impersonate certain people” like Hugh Hauser “ my cousin was a loving, go lucky, caring person. It was special that our family got to spend this past Easter holiday with Brian, we had a real special day with laughter, some crying, but most of all some fun. My last memory would be me visiting Brian about a week before his passing. I was leaving, he said something as I was walking out the door, my aunt called me Darla”Brian is saying something to you, I said what Cuz, he repeated and said “I love you Cuz” with a big smile. That will forever be with me.
Dear cousin you will be forever missed, always in my heart “ you will not be forgotten. Love you and miss you!!
Cousin Darla😘❤️
God give us strength , prayers also to my uncle, aunt and cousin Lisa and family, comfort during this difficult time.

My favorite memories of Brian were in high school when I was best friends with his sister Lisa. He used to pick Lisa and I up from school. He would tease us and say he wouldn’t bring me home but always did. I loved Brian like a big brother and looked up to him because he had the drivers license. Later when we grew up, he’d always tease me every time he saw me like he was disappointed to see me. He always followed up with a smile and hug to remind me he was just kidding and doing his big brother duty by giving me a hard time. Some of my best memories are with the Barraza family. I will miss him and I am so sorry to see him go but I pray that God Bless his family. I know he is at peace now. I will always remember him big bro. Rest In Peace Brian.
