Rose Hills is proud to be an active, contributing member of the communities it serves.
The foundation was established by Rose Hills in 1997 as a meaningful way to support local, non-profit organizations within Los Angeles and Orange counties. For more information, please click here.
Each year, Rose Hills partners with dozens of organizations by donating funds, its services and the use of its facilities to help the individuals in our community succeed and survive. Charitable funds are distributed through Rose Hills’ SkyRose Chapel Foundation to a variety of recipients and causes.
Dignity Memorial® Homeless Veterans Burial Program
As a member of the Dignity Memorial network, Rose Hills participates in the Dignity Memorial® Homeless Veterans Burial Program. This important program provides dignified burial services for eligible homeless and indigent veterans to ensure they receive the honors in death that their service in life merited.
Rose Hills employees come together to show their support for a number of important causes. From canned food collections and blood drives to raising funds for diabetes and breast cancer research, Rose Hills employees are making a difference in the community and around the world.
Rose Hills is proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial network, which is a National Strategic Partner of the American Diabetes Association. Since 2007, Dignity Memorial providers nationwide have raised more than $380,000 for the American Diabetes Association through local fundraising efforts.
From its wells, Rose Hills supplies enough potable water for 8,000 families to local municipal utilities, and then buys back 3,500 gallons of recycled water annually to irrigate our park. In addition, the 100 acres of land that Rose Hills leases for farming is also irrigated with water from its wells.
Rose Hills is committed to protecting natural wildlife in its memorial park. It is partners with the Audubon Society in their bluebird restoration project, and a sizable population of bluebirds lives in Rose Hills Memorial Park’s Gate 10 area. Additional wildlife that can be found in the Park includes mule deer, coyotes, cottontail rabbits, red tail hawks, swallows and indigenous reptiles.
